The Rome II Regulation has now been applied before national courts across the EU for several years. Case law covers different areas, and the application of the Regulation has revealed problematic issues such as the delimitation of direct/indirect consequences of a harmful event, the interface of the Regulation with international conventions or the use of the public policy exception.
In this seminar, distinguished practitioners and academics from the UK and abroad will give an update on the application of the Regulation in different national courts. They will consider practical problems with its application and assess the use of foreign law under Rome II.
