Dr Wolfgang Resch has been CEO of PEOPIL since February 1999 and during this time has been at the forefront of many initiatives by PEOPIL in the area of personal injury law.

Wolfgang was educated at Ludwig-Maximilians- University, Munich, and the Universität des Saarlandes, Saarbrücken. As an Erasmus Student he completed a two-year course on Criminology at the Erasmus University, Rotterdam and at the same time graduated with a PhD in Law at the Free University of Amsterdam. During his time in the Netherlands, he successfully completed courses of European Union and Air and Space Law at the Rijksuniversiteit Leiden and received a scholarship for the University of Florida, Gainesville, where he successfully completed a course in an Introduction to American Law.

After returning from the U.S he took up  an invitation of the International Christian University ICU in Tokyo and successfully completed a one year course on Japanese Language, Law and Culture and subsequently went on to study for one year at  the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg where he graduated as magister juris and doctor juris before completing an MBA in Business Administration at  the Edinburgh University Management School. He also worked for various law firms in Germany and Austria.

Wolfgang has executive control of PEOPIL’s day to day operations reporting to a five-member Executive Board.  Wolfgang co-ordinates and directs PEOPIL’s Conference programmes with the helpful assistance of the individual conference committees and manages PEOPIL’s membership development, nine European Exchange Groups and all marketing activities.

Wolfgang sees case referrals as a very important part of his role as PEOPIL CEO and is always happy to refer personal injury cases, when the opportunity arises, to PEOPIL members in the different jurisdictions.

Wolfgang is also a member of APIL, AAJ and is a founder member and past Board member of the Institute for European Road Traffic Law. He is a fellow of the European Law Institute also a fellow of the Institute of Association Leadership
