PEOPIL Executive Board member Liam Moloney based in Dublin, Ireland has been appointed Honorary Consul in Ireland for the Republic of Slovenia. Mr Moloney was recently nominated by the Slovenian Government to fulfil the position of Honorary Consul and the Irish Government accepted the nomination. The task of an honorary consul is to encourage and promote business culture, travel, trade, and economic interests between the sending and the receiving country. Mr Moloney will have jurisdiction over the Southern Counties.
Mr Moloney commented on his appointment ‘’I am delighted to have been nominated by the Slovenian Government to be its Honorary Consul in Ireland. Slovenia has a population of over 2 million people and has a vibrant work force. The main economic driver of Slovenia is the services industry followed by manufacturing and construction. In my new role I will be working to promote greater co-operation between Irish and Slovene companies in these areas along with the tourism sector’’.
Commenting on Liam’s appointment as an Honorary Consul, Dr Wolfgang Resch PEOPIL CEO said today ‘’we are delighted that Liam has been appointed as an Honorary Consul. Liam has been a strong supporter of PEOPIL in Ireland for many years and recently joined the PEOPIL executive board as Revitalisation Officer. Liam is a successful International Travel Lawyer and has worked hard alongside his board colleagues over the last number of months to ensure that PEOPIL remains a vibrant force despite these challenging times’’.
