PEOPIL maintains official contacts with many organisations across Europe and indeed the world.
For example, PEOPIL has official contacts with APIL (Association of Personal Injury Lawyers) in the United Kingdom, AAJ (American Association for Justice) in the USA and ALA (Australian Law Association) in Australia and others.

PEOPIL participates in the development of EU legislation
PEOPIL formulated written submissions in response to the European Commission Green Papers on Liability for defective products, Legal Aid and on Compensation to Crime Victims and was invited by the European Commission to participate in the hearings regarding the above papers.
Other submissions include:
- PEOPIL response to Working Document on the Council Directive 90/314/Eec (13 June 1990 On Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours)
- Determining The Competent Court And What Law To Apply In Cases Of Civil Wrongs: The Case Of Road Traffic Accidents (2 December 2008 on behalf of PEOPIL at the European Parliament)
- Response to the Rome II and Brussels I consultations.
Currently we are working on the revision of the Product Liability Directive and the proposal for the AI Liability Directive.
